It's been a busy Rotary week for many. Festival meeting on Tuesday night, club meeting on Thursday night, Wheelathon on Friday night and the social night on Saturday. And of course our regular BBQ stint for those rostered on last Sunday.
The Wheelchair for Kids 'Wheelathon', organised by the Interact Club at Montmorency, was marred by terrible weather but was enthusiastically supported by those students who attended. Once the rain cleared, the participants energetically pushed each other round the track and raced each other in 100 metre sprints. Spied having a go were John and Ernita - taking turns at the pushing. Thank you to the large contingent of Rotarians and Rotaractors who turned up to help out and support the event. Congratulations to the Montmorency Interact Club and Ian Toohill for organising the event.
A large group of happy and relaxed Rotarians and partners met up on Saturday night at Maroush and enjoyed a Lebanese banquet, lots of chat and good cheer. It was lovely to welcome our newest member Keith den Hartog and partner Ruth to their first social evening and to hear about the recent exploits of members recently returned from holidays. I was very pleased to hear that members are enjoying the program at weekly club meetings. Thanks to Les Coath for organising the evening.
This week is no less busy. Boardies - see you at the Board meeting at Rob’s on Wednesday night. Everyone else - see you for our Footy extravaganza on Thursday night at the Heidelberg Golf Club. And don’t forget to bring/wear/flaunt your footy colours.
Cheers, President Judy
