This week we welcome Sam Cusamano, President of the Rotary Club of Bundoora. Sam is a well respected Lecturer of Sports Law at Deakin University. Sam specialises in the Law of Sport and the setting of "sensible" benchmarks.  He is concerned with the operation and importance of Tribunals, restraint of Trade and the resolution of disputes. Sam is the author of business law & sports Law books.

President David will be joined at the top table by "Doc" Alan McCleary in the Chair. Alan & Sam are pretty good mates. Frank Lynch has his chance to square some old scores as finemaster.

Thanks to the following Rotarians for their valuable support at the Wheelchair Marathon on Friday 27th May, which was a great success.  It would not have been the success it was without your much appreciated assistance.

Kerry Skinner and  Victoria Clague who worked with my wife in the canteen; Jill Ramsay and Judy Sharp who manned the registration desk; Kevin Hadingham, Brett Linsell, Paul Kelly, Irene Cant, Michael Maloney, Frank Lynch and Sam from Rotaract who all helped with the BBQ; Wayne played an awesome guitar in the  makeshift band he helped me put together for the night and of course John Skinner, who helped with preparations over the past month or so, as well as the BBQ on the night.

On top of the above Sally was very supportive in the lead up and a number of College staff also lent their support on the day, as did my whole family. Community members donated two wheelchairs in excellent condition.

21 student teams participated  with about 80 students involved. The Interact Club is also to be congratulated on a great effort. More pledged money will come in via the College in the next week or two.

The support and generosity of many other Club members has assured a fantastic financial result, which together with Frank’s  Footwear efforts will probably be in the vicinity of $8000 by the time all pledged funds are received.

On to Atlanta

The New system for RSVP to meetings using ClubRunner invitations has commenced. A huge thank you to those members who have already embraced it. This will make Attendance much easier for the Secretary, Duty team and Treasurer.
