What a lovely time of year this is - Christmas spirit everywhere.
If only people could be like this all year!
It has been a wonderful finish to 2015 for our Club with a great festival, six new members joining in the last three weeks, and all culminating in a very happy Christmas function at Ballara last Thursday evening.
A warm welcome to our new members. I'm sure that you'll very much enjoy Rotary and our amazing club.
I always enjoy member participation. Sally Squires 'Rotarian Behind The Badge' was terrific and Gary Williams did a great job as MC on Thursday night. Thank you to you both.
It was great to see John & Barbara Lewis on Thursday.
We return on January 14 with a casual dinner at Proscuitto Bros. in Peel St Eltham. Please advise Ann of your attendance.
Enjoy the Festive Season and the short break. I wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas, a happy New Year, and a safe holiday season.
On Christmas Eve join fellow Rotarians and family at Sallys house. After dinner, from 7.30pm onwards, come to drink, talk and/or play games. My kids like Texas Holden but other games include Cards Against Humanity or Monopoly. This is a night for parents, kids and extended family. All welcome, just RSVP numbers. BYO drinks. Stay for half an hour or rest on the bar with Les and Paul until 1am! RSVP to Sally 0413 759 394.

0900 -Team Captain to arrange pick up of trailer and equipment at Rats Shed.
Remember, every member is expected to do 4 BBQ’s a year, not a big ask. If you are unavailable,
arrange a replacement and let Ron know. You will have already let Ron know the dates you are Unavailable during the year, didn’t you?
Please note that instructions from the council mean the BBQ now faces the other direction
Sundays BBQ
Sunday’s excellent team with me was Howard Turner, Heather Gardner and Vicki Mackrell. Although having two vegetarians left them without lunch!
Our take for the day was a bit low. The railway people commented that they were down on numbers of customers and did not know why. There also did not seem to be as many as usual in the playground.
The temperature was hotter (about 32) than forecast and we sold 25 to 30 bottles of water.
Regards and Seasons Greetings,

District Conference - Bendigo, 25-28 February 2016
As February and our District Conference is fast approaching, it is now time for us to finalise our attendance.
Accommodation is at the Best Western Cathedral Inn where we have 20 rooms reserved plus a further 10 rooms on hold.
Please advise Ann or me whether you will be attending and the nights you require accommodation. A list will be circulated on Thursday night and at the Christmas Party.
Registration. Please go to our District Conference website where you will find all the information needed - e.g. Keynote Speakers, social functions, sporting events, House of Friendship etc.
Remember, Rotarians must register themselves for Conference. We are not able to do this for you due to all the options offered to the delegates.
Friday Night is traditionally our Cub night where we are booked at the National Hotel. They have given us our own function room and have promised us a great spread. It is just a short 2 block stroll from the Cathedral Inn.
Lets hope you will all be able to join us in Bendigo for this entertaining, interesting and fun weekend.
