I hope you have enjoyed this Rotary year as much as I have and I thank you all for your tremendous support. I said I would avoid the term "my year" as it was not my year but rather "the year I was President of our great Rotary Club" and I thank you all for your hard work, encouragement and total support.
I am proud of our achievements and to mention a few:
* inducting 7 x new members
* the acceptance of our new home - The Common restaurant - and averaging 43 attendees at our weekly meetings
*170 members and guests at last year's changeover
* our most productive Rotary Festival and generally regarded as the best Festival to date
* modification and maintenance on our BBQ trailer improving its efficiency and safety
*allocating the funding and arranging the improvements to our sound system at The Common; we are waiting on the wireless component and it will be installed very soon
*we said we would attempt to reduce the workload of being a member by reducing committee meetings and combining them with Club meetings;I believe we have achieved that
* we have spent the funds you have worked so hard for wisely and widely; we have an obligation to help those in need and not accumulate funds
*I promised the use of the" F "word and I think we have had a lot of "FUN."
*sitting on a Presidential selection committee that has chosen our first Female President for 2017-18 - Judy Sharp - and I am sure we are all looking forward to Judy adding a new dimension to the Presidency of our Club.
* I can't thank our Board members enough; they have been unconditionally supportive and all have contributed immensely. We introduced 4 x new Board Members and increased the number of female Board members.
Thanks for the opportunity to be added to the Past Presidents' list at the end of our Bulletin; a tradition I like. I believe that our Club is a standout for many reasons; we don't take ourselves too seriously, we do things without a fanfare, we involve all members in all areas of our activities and, whilst we encourage new members, we respect our older members and their past and present achievements. Thank you all so much; I look forward to Kevin being President of our wonderful Club and wish him all the best,
